This ready-to-use cover lesson, based on my electronic structures lesson, allows GCSE students to work independently and develop their understanding of how electrons are arranged in the first 20 elements through clear explanations and engaging activities. Ideal for unexpected staff absences.

 

This is the 8th in a series of lessons and covers the content from the AQA GCSE 4.1.1(.7) A simple model of the atom, symbols, relative atomic mass, electronic charge and isotopes topic and OUP Kerboodle GCSE Chemistry Scheme C1.8, Electronic structures lesson.

 

While primarily designed for UK students with British English spellings and vocabulary, the core content and activities can be easily adapted to suit the needs of students in other countries with similar educational systems.
